Becoming an Official for HWSA

Being an official has tremendous rewards. 

• An official gets to learn and understand what each swimmer has to do legally in a race.

• An official gets to be up and close in the action.

• An official gets to enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks at meets provided by the host.

Parents who complete the training and meet the minimum session requirements will receive the following benefits:

• Reimbursement for fees associated with Officials Training and Certification.

• Reimbursement for Officials Uniform / Attire as required.

• HWSA Officials will also receive a discount for their highest HWSA Athlete’s Registration Fees (see below)

  • 15% Off for Stroke & Turn Officials

  • 20% Off for Admin Officials

  • 25% Off for Starter, Meet Ref, & Meet Directors

  • 30% Off for 5+ Years of continuous service as a HWSA Official
